Eryngium giganteum - Miss Willmott's Ghost
Miss Willmott's Ghost is a short lived perennial with a spiny collar of silvery-white bracts surrounding an egg-shaped flower head which are initially pale green, then change to steel-blue. The flower stalks rise above a basal rosette of heart-shaped green leaves, Bees, butterflies and beneficial pollinating insects love it and it has received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Great for cut flowers.
