Ratibida columnifera is an upright, clump-forming perennial with golden yellow and vibrant rust-red flowers with drooping petals. It has slender stems with bright green, feathery, and deeply cleft leaves. It is attractive to  butterflies, and the seedheads are a food sourse for birds in Autumn and Winter.
