Bearded iris, or Iris germanica, is a striking rhizomatous perennial with large and showy flowers. The foliage is sword-like and adds a touch of elegance to the garden. Grow in well-drained soil ensuring the rhizomes are partially exposed, and divide clumps every three to five years to promote flowering.
