Slender vervain is a tuberous perennial forming a bushy mound of oblong, rigid, dark green leaves, 5-10 cm long. It has clusters of fragrant, intense purple flowers on branched stems which are rich in nectar and attract honeybees. It could be described as a miniature Verbena bonariensis and has the Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society.
